Contract Negotiations are now at an Impasse

After negotiating with the District for over a year it has become clear that they are unwilling to negotiate or discuss our proposal to move the Rangers to a Public Safety Benefits Plan that will better protect them if injured on the job.

During negotiations discussions on the contract are confidential and confined to the representatives selected by each side.

It is our hope that by declaring that the negotiations process has reached an impasse it will allow us to communicate directly with the MROSD Board of Directors. MROSD Management has made it clear that the board is unwilling to negotiate on a Public Safety Benefits Plan but they have been unable to satisfactorily explain their position.

We are also hoping to take our message to the public, ultimately the MROSD Board of Directors are elected and represent the public.

If you support having skilled and trained Rangers ready to respond to public safety emergencies this that occur within and surrounding Open Space Lands please contact your elected board members and ask them to return to the negotiations table with the Rangers to offer a benefits package that is consistent with their public safety role.
