Four Year Agreement Reached
At the October 11th, 2023 Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District’s (MROSD) public meeting, the Board of Directors voted to enter into a four (4) year contract with the Midpeninsula Rangers Peace Officers Association (POA). This vote was the final step needed to enter into the contract as the POA ratified the contract on September 11th, 2023.

On February 8th, the Midpeninsula Rangers POA President spoke at the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District’s Board meeting during public comments.
Negotiations Restart
“Despite the two parties stepping away from the negotiation table over eight (8) months ago, the two parties have been working hard to address this issue and hope to be able create a contract that works for both the POA and the District. To do this, the POA and the District will be entering back into negotiations and sitting at the table with each other starting Wednesday, February 15th, 2023.”

MROSD Ignores Public and Votes to Impose on Rangers
Despite the unanimous public support for the Rangers given during the meeting and a letter from California State Senator Dave Cortese of the Fifteenth Senate District, the board voted to impose working rules on District Rangers.
